Hello, my name is Brooke, I am married and a mother of two. When my daughter was younger I was attending school, and was able to place her in the college daycare/preschool program. Six years later when our son Logan was born, we were faced with the challenge of finding a daycare provider that met our same expectations that we experienced with the college state facility. Logan has been with Miss Suzie since he was about 18 months of age, and he absolutely loves it there. He’s excited everyday to go to “school”, and he is always talking about all his friends and Miss Suzie at home.
Miss Suzie goes far and beyond the typical in home daycare. She is extremely organized, from daily activity logs that pertain directly to your child, to monthly newsletters. It is always hard to leave your baby, but knowing he is in such a safe, loving environment everyday definitely eases our minds. Miss Suzie’s, Just Kiddin Around Daycare, has been a real blessing to our family. We feel that our son receives all the love and attention that he would get from a loving family member.
After placing our son in a few different daycare situations, we finally found a woman who will care for him the way that we do. Just Kiddin' Around not only meets our needs in a professional manner, but also feels like an extension of our family ~ The Camp Family
Miss Suzie has been taking care of my son, Luke, since he was 4 months old (he'll be turning 5 in June 2011).
The very first thing that impressed me, was of all the people we interviewed...she was the first and only person that ever asked to hold our son during the interview. She was engaged and caring about getting to know him from the very initial meeting. That was the most important impression for me...it was not just about us feeling comfortable with her, but her being comfortable and bonding with our child too!
From the first day, my son has been like a family member. Her children, and her husband, are all very supportive of Suzie's business, and they always take the time to interact with the kids - which is another wonderful, nurturing aspect of her center.
Some of the things which impress us about Suzie...
She always takes the time to talk to us, daily about Luke's progress (in the form of daily process reports and also just in talking), about how his day was, and any challanges that might have occured. Let's face it, "kids are kids" and sometimes they need some discipline and help to grow into little people with good social interaction skills and manners. Suzie has a great understanding of the type of discipline and guidance she can and should be giving in the roll of day care provider. And, from spending some time with her own kids, and seeing how they behave - another thing that has impressed me, is that her kids are truly wonderful...well-behaved, polite and respectful, and they too, truly love kids.
It is also very special to us, that Miss Suzie also makes a point to do special "extra" things for the day care kids and their families. From picnics, to holiday gift exhanges, to the occassional field trip, and of course celebrating the kids birthdays, it is a wonderful small-family network.
There is also a great educational cirriculum, and i am seeing that my son, is really excelling for his age...in his verbal abilities, his basic numbers and letters, and just in overall social interaction. The kids spend time doing lots of stimulating activities throughout the day, and plenty of great arts and crafts (which mommy just loves!).
And lastly...Miss Suzie is also helping our son, and two other toddlers with the potty-training process. This is something that is very important for parents to find - Because the day care provider is spending more time with your children than you are, you really need someone who will take the initative to help with the potty training.
Selecting a day care provider for your infant or toddler is a very personal and "gut-instinct" sort of thing for a parent...and i knew the second i met Suzie, that this is the person that would watch my son. She has been there for him from a very young age, and I couldnt ask for a better friend or mother-figure for my child - she is truly "co-parenting" with us,,,that's a huge responsibility for a person to take on, and i am truly appreciative of Miss Suzie!
Sincerely, Aaron Beth Butterworth (mother of Luke Butterworth)
